Natalie Wagstaffe

Illustrator & Surface Pattern Designer

Natalie is a London-based illustrator and surface pattern designer who draws inspiration from nature and the colours, textures and symbolism found in traditional arts and crafts.

Her love of the natural world was ignited at a young age. Spending holidays at her grandparent's home in the rolling hills of Somerset she was often to be found picking peas and digging potatoes in her grandmother's vegetable patch. Her home in the inner city couldn’t have been more different, inspiring her insatiable curiosity for the colours, patterns and textiles of multicultural London.

Natalie has a strong belief in the power that beautiful objects and spaces have to transform our mental health and well-being. She has made it her mission to create illustrations and patterns that promote joy and connection and provide a sense of psychological safety. To Natalie, work that stirs the heart cannot be rushed and her approach is much informed by her Buddhist practice, the philosophy and ideals of William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement.

In 2022 Natalie was diagnosed with ADHD and is a passionate advocate for neurodiversity and mental health. Through her creative practice, and sharing her own journey she hopes to support others to feel a sense of connection and hope.
